U.S. manufacturing grows in March, ending five months of declines

U.S. manufacturers expanded in March, ending a five-month streak of declining factory activity. The Institute for Supply Management said that its manufacturing index rose to 51.8 last month from 49.5 in February. Any reading above 50 signals growth. Britain announces moves to bolster faltering steel industry

The British government says public sector construction projects will be encouraged to use U.K.-made steel, a move designed to shore up an industry in crisis.
